2004 Potomac Fever
Newsletter
Why Potomac Fever?
For over 200 years, honest(?) and hard-working(?) politicians
have come to Washington, DC with pure hearts and good intentions.
They get elected by promising to cut taxes and cut spending...then
something happens and a transformation begins.
We call it Potomac Fever. The fumes from the Potomac River magically increase
the size of their heads sometimes ten fold. Slowly taxes aren't so bad after
all. What's a few billion or trillion in extra spending? After all I'm a very
important person; I represent "The People."
The longer a politician stays in Washington, the worse the symptoms get. Soon
their positions on issues "grow" to reflect Washington 's conventional
wisdom. After a while you can't tell the Democrats from the Republicans without
a scorecard. Potomac Fever is here to remind them where they came from and
who they represent. With your help we'll send the hopeless cases packing every
election cycle.
